Summer Band Camps are designed to give attendees a taste of what it is like to be in a "Rock Band." Participants will learn about and how to perform music from a variety of genres, including Blues, Rock-n-Roll, Pop, Folk, and Hip-Hop.
Campers will focus on an instrument of choice (Vocals, Drums, Guitar, Bass or Keys), and experiment with others (as desired). Additionally, students will have the opportunity to use electronic percussion, MIDI controllers, virtual instruments and world folk instruments, along with how to take care of instruments and set up sound equipment. Campers will also be shown presentations and documentaries of important musicians, instruments and landmark songs and engage in followup group discussions.

Participant Requirements:
No prior musical experience necessary. Prior musical training or experience is helpful, but all skill levels can be accommodated.* Campers are expected to bring a water bottle, a bagged lunch and be ready to rock.Registered participants are encouraged to submit a list of 5 songs by May 1st and at least one of theses songs will be worked into the camp curriculum to either play, listen to, or discuss.
Deadlines
Space is limited and on a first come first serve basis. Each camp needs a minimum of 4 participants and will be capped at 7.
Rates:
$250.00 per week (register by March 31st for early bird price of $225.00)

*As some instruments are more dominating than others and can throw off other camper's ability to play, primary instrument requests cannot be guaranteed. What instruments campers play while practicing and perform on in the final performance will ultimately be at the discretion of the instructor.
Camp Structure:
Monday-Friday, 9:30-12:30, at Mountain Boogie Studios (click street view and see a camp in session!).
The daily schedule for all camps:
9:30-10:00: Gather, outline goals for the day and group warmups.
10:00-11:00: Group Practice.
11:00-11:45 (BYO) Lunch with a presentation, video or discussion of a particular instrument, musical style, songwriter/composer or performer.
11:45-12:15: Group Practice.
12:15-12:30 recap the day, talk about the next day and put away instruments.
Camps will culminate with a final performance either at pick up or early evening on the last day of camp depending on amount of songs campers learn and participant scheduling.
The aims of Summer Band Camp are:
1) To explore music and develop interpersonal skills in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
2) Broaden and create a deeper appreciation of various musical periods and styles. Each day students will be exposed to various performers, instruments and important musical works.
3) Deepen fluency on a "primary" instrument, but also present an opportunity to work with and learn the basics of all of the main "rock band" instruments along with music technology and gear and hopefully discover new ways to love and appreciate the world of making music.
